This year, the event is in partnership with UEFA, which means there won’t be a separate „UEFA Player of the Year“ award. DAZN has acquired the broadcasting rights for the Ballon d’Or ceremony in Germany as part of a larger partnership. The event will be streamed on DAZN’s free platform starting at 6:45 pm, and viewers only need to create a free account to watch it. The favorites for the men’s award are Vinícius Junior from Real Madrid/Brazil and Rodri from Manchester City/Spain. For the women’s award, Aitana Bonmatí from FC Barcelona/Spain, the reigning champion, and her teammate Caroline Graham Hansen from Norway are top contenders. Additionally, awards will be given for the best goalkeeper and the best U21 player.
On November 7th, instead of broadcasting a single Europa League game involving a German team, RTL will show a football conference. This decision was made to maximize viewership by combining games from two less popular teams, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and 1. FC Heidenheim. The hope is to attract a larger audience through this approach. ProSieben Maxx will be airing the Autumn Nations Series in rugby throughout November. The broadcast will feature matches like England vs. New Zealand and Scotland vs. Fiji, with commentary from Jan Lüdeke and expert analysis from Manuel Wilhelm.
DF1, in partnership with DAZN, will be showing the Final 8 of the Davis Cup 2024 in Malaga, Spain. The German team, captained by Michael Kohlmann, will face Canada in the quarterfinals on November 20th. If the German team advances, they will play the winner of Spain vs. the Netherlands in the semifinals on November 22nd. The final match will take place on November 24th, but it will only be broadcast on DF1 if the German team is involved. DAZN has also collaborated with Pluto TV to offer a free channel called „DAZN Handball x Pluto TV“ where viewers can watch live Champions League matches involving Füchse Berlin and SC Magdeburg.
In terms of viewership, the DTM broadcasts on ProSieben have not been very popular, with an average of 270,000 viewers and a market share of 2.6%. On the other hand, ProSieben Maxx achieved a yearly high for the wrestling show „NXT“ with a market share of 2.1% among 14-49-year-olds and 130,000 total viewers. „RAW“ and „Smackdown“ also had decent viewership numbers, attracting wrestling fans to their respective broadcasts.
