After six seasons of „Cobra Kai,“ there will be no new season. But more „Karate Kid“ action awaits us soon in the cinema. At New York Comic Con, a first poster was released and a trailer was shown.

On Netflix, there will be no more seasons of the popular „Cobra Kai“ series. The story of „Karate Kid“ rivals Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) has come to an end on the streaming service. However, martial arts enthusiasts can look forward to new content from the „Karate Kid“ universe soon. With „Karate Kid: Legends“ coming to cinemas in 2025, a new adventure will bring together the different worlds of the franchise. Ralph Macchio will once again portray Daniel LaRusso on screen. What makes this special is that he will meet Mr. Han from the „Karate Kid“ remake, portrayed by martial arts legend Jackie Chan, as in the 2010 reboot.

Now, a first poster has been released to celebrate the meeting of these two „Karate Kid“ legends. Additionally, a teaser trailer for „Karate Kid: Legends“ was shown at New York Comic Con. According to a brief description from Deadline, we can expect to see Mr. Han from the 2010 reboot recruiting the star of the film, played by Ben Wang, at a martial arts academy. The trailer also features Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso and a portrait of the late Mr. Miyagi, the iconic martial arts master from the „Karate Kid“ films.

The trailer transitions to New York, showing the city and its gritty corners, including some thugs in the subway. Mr. Han’s voiceover asks, „In life, there is only one question: Is it worth fighting for or not?“ This is followed by a montage of scenes, including the new student scaling a brick wall parkour-style, Ralph Macchio wearing the iconic headband from the film, snippets of various martial arts fights, and the words „When families unite, a new legacy begins“ flashing on screen.

Directed by Jonathan Entwistle, known for Netflix’s „The End Of The F***ing World“ and „I Am Not Okay With This,“ „Karate Kid: Legends“ will feature Jackie Chan, Ralph Macchio, Ben Wang, Joshua Jackson, and Ming-Na Wen. The film is set to release on May 29, 2025, in German cinemas.

In addition to this exciting news, „Gladiator 2“ is also on the horizon as another action highlight. The first reactions to the film promise an epic action experience that will go down in cinema history.
