Title: King Charles III Displeased with Situation Regarding Archie and Lilibet

Since Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan stepped back from the royal family in 2020 and moved to the USA, King Charles III has had limited contact with his grandson Archie mainly through video calls. Little Lilibet has only visited the UK once and therefore only sees her royal grandfather through a camera.

Charles reportedly wishes for more contact with Archie and Lilibet and is far from satisfied with the current situation. Despite the strained relationship with Harry and his wife, the monarch is said to be keen on building a closer relationship with his grandchildren in the USA, as he has only seen the children a few times. The five-year-old Archie and three-year-old Lilibet have allegedly spoken with their grandfather via video call several times, but Charles is interested in forming a stronger bond with them.

Princess Lilibet turned three years old on June 4, and reports suggest that Charles privately sent her greetings and a gift. Royal expert Tom Quinn claimed to The Mirror, „King Charles did not intend to completely ignore Lilibet’s birthday, so he sent a gift along with a message.“

Sources report that the monarch is „absolutely determined“ to be involved in the lives of his grandchildren.

Cancer diagnosis: Charles knows he „won’t be there forever“

According to a source who spoke to The Mirror, Charles sent Lilibet a „warm gift and card“ for her third birthday last week, while royal expert Ingrid Seward emphasized that the King’s cancer diagnosis has made his relationships with his grandchildren „even more poignant,“ knowing that he „won’t be there forever.“ Royal commentator Michael Cole also stressed to the Daily Mail that Charles feels the „lack of closeness to his Californian grandchildren“ deeply, as his own childhood was affected by the long absence of his parents on extended tours through the Commonwealth.

Former BBC Royal correspondent noted that Charles currently looks „as happy and content as I have ever seen him,“ but he „only regrets not seeing Archie and Lilibet.“

The King is said to have a very close relationship with his other grandchildren. He is a „fantastic and enthusiastic grandparent“ to the children of Prince William and Princess Kate, Prince George (10), Princess Charlotte (9), and Prince Louis (5), according to a source.

Charles and Camilla are said to have the desire to see Harry and Meghan’s children more often – a development that is not out of the question. Sources suggest that Harry is „determined to find his own permanent home in the UK“ after he and Meghan had to give up their British residence at Frogmore Cottage.
