Fire Breaks Out in Refugee Accommodation, Police and Fire Brigade Called to the Scene

On Monday, June 10, 2024, at around 8:10 pm, a fire was reported in a refugee accommodation on Nibelungenstraße in Lindenfels. Upon arrival, fire brigade and police officers found a fire in one of the rooms. All individuals were able to evacuate the accommodation quickly. Five people suffered minor smoke inhalation but were treated on-site by rescue personnel and released. One room was rendered temporarily uninhabitable due to the fire, and the affected family is staying with friends. The firefighting efforts were swiftly completed with the assistance of the Lindenfels fire department, neighboring communities, as well as emergency medical services and the mayor of Lindenfels. Nibelungenstraße was closed for approximately 30 minutes during the operation. The estimated damage amounts to around €10,000. The cause of the fire is unknown and is currently under investigation by the police. There are no indications of external interference.
