Florian Silbereisen, a popular German entertainer, has agreed to host a four-hour live show on New Year’s Eve, as confirmed by him in an interview with Bild. The show will be broadcast on December 31, 2024, from 8:15 pm to 12:20 am on ARD, SRF, ORF, and the ARD Mediathek.
The Eurovision show, titled „Silvester-Schlagerbooom 2025 – Die Wunderlichtershow!“ will be broadcast from the Basketball Arena of FC Bayern. The ARD will take the lead in producing the show, which is why it will be broadcast from Munich.
This will be the first time the New Year’s Eve show will be broadcast live. Previously, it was pre-recorded in November with Francine Jordi and Hans „Bergdoktor“ Sigl as hosts. The ratings have been declining, and now Flori is expected to attract more viewers.
„We will celebrate with many stars and a unique wonder of lights. This will be my record-breaking Schlager XXL party!“ Florian Silbereisen mentioned. The lineup of singers and performers joining him on stage at the BMW Park in Munich on December 31 is not yet clear.
The „Silvester-Schlagerbooom 2025“ on ARD will be in direct competition with the ZDF live program featuring a big New Year’s Eve party hosted by Johannes B. Kerner and Andrea Kiewel at the Brandenburg Gate. However, Silbereisen’s New Year’s show is not intended to be an annual production like the ZDF program but rather a one-time addition in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the „Feste“ Schlager format series.
Tickets for the Silvester event in Munich have been available since October 19th. The show promises to be a spectacular event for viewers, filled with music, entertainment, and special guests. Don’t miss out on this one-of-a-kind New Year’s Eve celebration with Florian Silbereisen!
