In „Don’t Move,“ Iris’s past plays a significant role. She lost her young son in a tragic accident, which robbed her of all will to live. At the beginning of the film, she is even on the brink of suicide. In a way, she was already paralyzed in her own way before encountering the insane Richard.
The later literal paralysis in the film has a remarkable effect on Iris. When she faces her own death, she suddenly rediscovers her will to live and ultimately overcomes two forms of paralysis.
