On October 23, 2024, around 3:25 pm, a serious traffic accident occurred on the K157 between Groß-Gerau-Dornheim and Riedstadt-Leeheim. An 86-year-old man from Dornheim was driving his Hyundai car on the K157 from Leeheim towards Dornheim. Coming towards him was a family from Bischofsheim, a couple and two children aged 3 and 35. For reasons unknown, the two vehicles collided and were thrown into the adjacent field. The collision, which caused an estimated damage of about 20,000 EUR, resulted in injuries to all involved parties who were taken to nearby hospitals.

The road had to be fully closed until 6:00 pm for the accident investigation, towing operations, and subsequent cleaning. The police are asking for witnesses who may have seen the accident or have information about what happened to come forward.
