In celebration of the 90th birthday of music icon Nana Mouskouri on October 13, 2024, a special anniversary album titled „Happy Birthday, Nana“ was released on October 11 through Electrola/Universal Music. The album features twenty of her greatest German-language songs, including new re-recordings by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra London, such as „Weiße Rosen aus Athen,“ „Guten Morgen, Sonnenschein“ (released as a single on September 27, 2024), and „Ave Maria“ by Franz Schubert. Additionally, a new recording of the Greek-language song „Pios échi Dakria“ is also included.

Fans of Nana Mouskouri can look forward to classics like „La Provence (Du Blühendes Land)“ from 1980, produced by André Chapelle and written by Jörg von Schenckendorff and Ralph Siegel. The album also features her number one hits „Ich Schau Den Weißen Wolken Nach“ and „Einmal Weht Der Südwind Wieder“ from 1962. The song „Schiffe, Die Sich Nachts Begegnen“ from 1980, written by Roland Kaiser and composed by Heino Petrik, is also part of the compilation.

Nana Mouskouri’s breakthrough hit „Weiße Rosen aus Athen“ from 1961, along with „Guten Morgen, Sonnenschein“ and „Ave Maria,“ are reimagined on the album with delicate orchestral arrangements by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Another highlight is the Greek-language song „Pios échi Dakria,“ written for the music icon over 30 years ago by Dimos Moutsis and Nikos Gatsos.
