Singer Isaak Guderian, 29, made waves at the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden, by breaking the German ESC curse and securing a respectable 12th place with his song „Always on the Run.“ However, his success was overshadowed by online insults targeting his weight. Isaak, hailing from Westphalia, revealed that he was attacked on Instagram for being overweight, with comments ranging from suggestions to „optimize“ himself to insults like „fat pig.“

Despite the hurtful remarks, Isaak remained unfazed. He expressed, „I have literally grown a thick skin and I am at peace with my weight. It’s not my problem, it’s the problem of those who have an issue with my weight.“ Isaak, who has been married to his wife Loreen for eight years and has two sons, admitted that he has never been able to stick to a diet, acknowledging the ups and downs of weight management. He now embraces self-acceptance, stating, „I am good just the way I am. It feels very liberating.“

At 1.87 meters tall, Isaak currently weighs 130 kilograms, having previously reached 145 kilograms due to binge-eating episodes. Reflecting on his youth as a street singer, Isaak shared, „I have always known myself this way, and I have accepted it.“ He no longer considers diets as an option, as his love for hearty food, such as pasta, potatoes, meat, and rice, alongside his wife’s passion for cooking, make it difficult to resist.

Isaak is a supporter of the „Body Positivity“ movement, advocating for a positive outlook on all body types. He believes that a person’s character and inner values are what truly matter, regardless of their physical appearance. Professionally, Isaak is on an upward trajectory, having recently released his ESC follow-up single „Never the Same.“ He is set to kick off his first major solo tour in November, consisting of twelve concerts. Isaak emphasizes, „I captivate with my voice, not with my body!“

Isaak’s resilience in the face of cyberbullying serves as a reminder of the importance of self-acceptance and confidence in one’s own skin. His journey towards embracing his body and promoting body positivity sets an inspiring example for individuals facing similar challenges. The negative comments directed at Isaak only fuel his determination to prioritize self-love and authenticity, proving that success is not defined by physical appearance but by one’s talent and character. In a world that often fixates on unrealistic beauty standards, Isaak’s story serves as a powerful reminder to celebrate diversity and individuality.
