New iPhone 16 Pro Sizes Leaked
Apple is expected to shake up the iPhone lineup this year, particularly with the 16 Pro models. Recently, dimensions and weight details have been leaked for the first time. These leaks come from two sources in China who have been accurate in the past. Additionally, there is new information about the display bezels of the iPhone 16 Pro.
Both devices are reportedly slightly heavier. The iPhone 16 Pro remains the same thickness as the iPhone 15 Pro but increases in height from 146.6 to 149.6 mm and in width from 70.60 to 71.45 mm. The display diagonal is rumored to be 6.3 inches instead of 6.1 inches. The iPhone 16 Pro is said to be 7 grams heavier than its predecessor.
As for the iPhone 16 Pro Max, the thickness increases from 8.25 to 8.26 mm, the height is now 163 mm instead of 159.9 mm, and the width is reported as 77.58 mm instead of 76.70 mm. This results in a display diagonal of 6.9 inches instead of 6.7 inches. The weight increases by 4 grams.
Thinnest Display Bezels in the World?
Apple is reportedly working on a small revolution in terms of display bezels. According to another leak from China, these bezels will be significantly reduced. The iPhone 16 Pro is rumored to have bezels only 1.2 mm thick (down from 1.71 mm), while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have bezels only 1.15 mm thick (down from 1.55 mm on the iPhone 15 Pro Max).
This would make them the thinnest display bezels on the market. For comparison, the bezel on the iPhone 14 Pro was 2.15 mm thick. Apple is using new display production technology to achieve this reduction, including the Border Reduction Structure process, which shrinks the circuits located under the display. The new iPhone models are expected to be unveiled in September if Apple sticks to its usual schedule. The new features may include improved cameras, faster 5G chips, and a new „Capture“ button for quicker photo and video capturing. The buttons could also switch to solid-state technology, which was allegedly considered for earlier models.
