Hannover 96: Perfect! Heise new jersey sponsor

Hannover 96 had never had as much trouble with their main sponsor as they did last season. But now, the second division team has found a successor for the bankrupt partner „Brainhouse 247“ and the emergency solution „Üstra“. Heise on the chest! The jerseys of World Cup winner Ron-Robert Zieler, defensive star Marcel Halstenberg, and the rest of the team will feature the logo of „Heise“ (a news website based in Hannover) in the upcoming season. The club officially announced this on Thursday. 96 will receive nearly 1.5 million euros per season from the new main sponsor.

This is also the amount that „Brainhouse 247“ paid, at least in the first two years of the contract. Last summer, the subsidiary of the Wohninvest group ran into serious financial trouble. 96 did not receive a single euro of the agreed sponsorship money. Boss Martin Kind (80) lamented: „They have not paid any money so far. I admit: We are missing the money.“ Although the demand is only postponed, there is little hope that the money will still come.

At the beginning of April, 96 made a decisive move. „Brainhouse 247“ was removed from the jersey, and „Üstra“ (Hannover’s public transport company) took over the jersey chest with their new logo („Ümo“) for the last seven games of the season – at a bargain price of just under 100,000 euros. However, this was only a temporary solution from the start, with no long-term cooperation planned. This is also evident from the fact that the „Ümo jersey“ was not even available for fans to purchase.

„Heise“ is the 15th main sponsor of 96 since 1976, with travel giant „TUI“ (2002 – 2014) holding the title for the longest period. Along with the new main sponsor, 96 also unveiled the home jersey for the 2024/25 season. It comes as no surprise that it is red.

With the new sponsorship deal in place, Hannover 96 can now focus on the upcoming season with renewed financial support. Fans can look forward to seeing the team sporting the Heise logo on their jerseys as they strive for success on the field. The partnership with Heise marks a new chapter for the club, one that they hope will bring them stability and success in the years to come.
