Germany’s most successful rapper, Capital Bra, whose real name is Vladyslav Balovatsky, is being targeted by criminal gangs. Gangsters are hunting him, threatening him, and demanding large sums of money. The „B.Z.“ newspaper has obtained investigation files from the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) that reveal how the musician has been drawn into the dangerous whirlpool of organized crime. It’s a terrifying situation!
In 2019, the rapper found himself in a serious predicament: an incident in the Berlin district of Wedding highlighted the level of threat he was facing. Chechen criminals stopped a friend of Capital Bra and delivered a clear message: the rapper owed them money, and if the demands were not met, there would be consequences. Capital Bra immediately recognized the danger and felt the threat firsthand. The underlying motives? Violence, intimidation, and potentially worse.
By the end of October 2019, the rapper felt he had no other choice but to turn to the police. In a detailed statement to the LKA, he revealed that he had been harassed by various criminal groups for months – including members of the notorious Miri family and Chechens. The demands for money varied, ranging from 500,000 euros to a staggering 5 million euros.
The root of these demands stemmed from Capital Bra’s split from the music label „Team Kuku“ in 2018. Following the separation, a dispute arose over a contractually agreed-upon album and earnings from the tour. Despite the rapper’s claims that he had fulfilled his contractual obligations, he suddenly became the target of large families seeking to dictate his future. In his testimonies, Capital Bra described feeling helpless as strangers negotiated his future.
The situation escalated when his former manager and clan members met in a café in Berlin-Reinickendorf to discuss his „transfer fee“ and alleged debts – without the musician’s knowledge. The threats also extended to his family. Feeling cornered, Capital Bra sought help from Albanians, but found them to be even more intimidating than the others. He realized quickly that he had gone from one mess to another.
The constant threats and immense pressure led Capital Bra to seriously consider giving up his music career. Shortly after, he switched to Bushido’s label „Ersguterjunge,“ which temporarily brought some peace. A music manager from the Remmo family intervened behind the scenes to calm the situation, but even that did not provide lasting security.
The new music manager was also visited by Chechens, and the situation threatened to escalate again. Capital Bra sensed the possibility of abduction if he did not pay up. Despite months of investigation into extortion, the police eventually lost contact with Capital Bra, and the case was closed. However, the danger to the rapper persisted: in April, his wife’s car was set on fire, indicating that the criminal gangs still had him in their sights.
