Sportfreunde Stiller are wowing fans as they near the end of their tour. Antje Schomaker provides „snacks“ for the audience. The band believes in engaging with their music, something everyone should do. „Nevertheless, we still have a lot of fun,“ they say. This great balance should serve as the guiding thread for the special Burli evening.

The evening began with Festival Director Timo Sadovnik welcoming the crowd of around 3300 people to the Alten Marktplatz stage. Unlike the previous nights, the program for Friday evening did not list a „support“ act, but rather „great guests.“ Antje Schomaker, who performed songs from her second album „Snacks,“ proved to be one of these great guests after Johannes Oerding and Amy Macdonald.

For the German indie-pop musician and songwriter, performing in front of a nationally known band was nothing out of the ordinary. Her music, characterized by a mix of talent, energy, and humor, continues to progress steadily – with the right people, in her own rhythm, for her own story.

With Schomaker’s performance marking the halfway point of the Marktplatz concerts, the second half was kicked off by the „Sportis,“ who had a shorter journey ahead of them the next day in Singen. Following them, Chris Isaak will take the stage on Saturday evening in Lörrach, with Jess Glynne closing out the performances on the Marktplatz stage. The concert series will continue for three more nights at the Weiler Vitra Campus, where James Blunt will kick off the Triple series next week.
