After an accident on the Baltic Sea island of Rügen, a 30-year-old woman and her 1-year-old daughter had to be taken to the hospital. The police reported that the mother and daughter were traveling as passengers in a VW on the B96 on Sunday around 12 p.m. When the VW stopped behind a Skoda, the accident occurred.
Due to a lack of sufficient safety distance, a 75-year-old Ford driver, according to the police, „did not stop in time and collided with the VW car, which then collided with the Skoda car.“ This collision resulted in the injuries, with the police describing them as „a slightly injured woman and a slightly injured toddler.“ Both were taken to the hospital for further treatment and examination.
The police stated that the accident caused about 10,000 euros in property damage. „Towing services had to be called to recover the partially inoperable cars, and due to the road closure, there were significant traffic restrictions during the clearing of the roadway,“ the police concluded.
In situations like this, it is essential to always maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you to avoid accidents. Keeping a safe following distance can prevent rear-end collisions and protect both yourself and others on the road. Remember to drive carefully and be aware of your surroundings to ensure everyone’s safety while on the road. Stay safe and drive responsibly!
