Schöne Zeit: Kirchberg Celebrates Despite 1-3 Loss
On the 22nd matchday in the Women’s Bayernliga, the SV Kirchberg faced a 1-3 defeat against TuS Bad Aibling in a rescheduled match. Despite the loss, the team can take comfort in the fact that they have already secured their spot in the league as newcomers. The main focus of the game was to bid farewell to coach Marcus Biller and player Kerstin Winter.
Coach Marcus Biller reflected on the match, stating, „The game was relatively balanced. However, we made too many mistakes, especially crucial ones, which ultimately led to our 1-3 loss. We did have opportunities to secure a draw, but unfortunately, we couldn’t capitalize on them.“
Player Kerstin Winter also shared her thoughts on the game and her retirement from active playing, saying, „Unfortunately, we lost focus for three minutes after the first drinks break and conceded two goals, making it difficult for us. In the second half, we had five clear chances that we failed to convert. A draw would have been a fair result in my opinion. As for my feelings, my emotional farewell was during the home game against Ruderting. Today, I had already mentally moved on and am looking forward to the new season as the head of the department.“
Despite the loss, the SV Kirchberg team can still celebrate the successful season and the contributions of both Marcus Biller and Kerstin Winter. As they head back home, they can look forward to a bus cabin farewell party to mark the end of an era.
