Freiburg’s 13th Rubber Duck Race for a Good Cause

On June 23rd at 2 p.m., the 13th Freiburg Rubber Duck Race will kick off, with approximately 10,000 rubber ducks being released into the water at the Dreisam between the Ganter Brewery and the Extrablatt to raise funds for a charitable cause. The Pinot and Rock Festival is sponsoring this year’s event, emphasizing the importance of supporting a good cause, particularly one dedicated to the well-being of sick children.

The entire proceeds from the race will benefit the „Hospital Clowns“ project at the University Hospital Freiburg. These professional clowns bring smiles to the faces of sick children in hospitals, contributing to their healing process with humor and warmth. The event aims not only to provide fun and excitement but also to support valuable initiatives like the Hospital Clowns.

Visitors can secure a duck ticket for the race online for as little as 2.50 EUR, with the chance to win attractive prizes and contribute to a good cause. Each purchased ticket will have a corresponding duck swimming in the race. Winners will be determined based on the order of the ducks at the end of the race, with results announced both onsite and online.

Moreover, the Pinot and Rock Festival promises a blend of great music and exquisite culinary delights, paired with excellent regional wines. Attendees can look forward to performances by renowned artists such as Peter Fox, Alli Neumann, The Scorpions, Alice Cooper, Sarah Connor, and more. The festival’s fan zone will open on specific days at varying times, offering a diverse range of entertainment.

Tickets for the festival are available for purchase online at www.pinotandrock.com and www.reservix.de, ensuring a memorable experience filled with music, gastronomy, and charitable contributions.
