the 10,000 Bitcoin for free? You should be directly taken aback. Even (or only?) if it’s a supposedly trusted company like Google is offering this. The official Twitter Account of Google’s G Suite canvassed involuntarily for a so-called Giveaway Scam:

„Google for 10,000 Bitcoin (BTC) give away to the Community! We have decided to make the biggest crypto-Giveaway of the world! In GSuite payments with crypto-currencies are now possible. Take part in the Giveaway“ – m. tesla.pw

of Course, the Bitcoin Scam was followed by the usual (and enticing) patterns of the Giveaways. Accordingly, you should verify to verify its address, a certain amount of Bitcoin to send, and then a significantly higher amount back:

„your address to send from 0.1 to 2 BTC to the address below and get back between 1 and 20 BTC! BONUS: addresses, the sending of 1.00 BTC or more, an additional 200 percent!“

As thenextweb reported, did not stop the Scam, however, too long – eleven minutes of the Twitter Post had disappeared again.

Giveaway Scams on Twitter are not uncommon

Twitter is a Problem with Giveaway Scams and Fake Accounts, is likely to already be known. The news service was recently added to the list, delete them generous Accounts that were suspected to be associated with Scams. As a result, the major crypto-exchanges also lost increasingly more followers. Binance and OKEx have, therefore, between the 29. October and the 1. November 3,000 Followers have lost.

How to protect yourself against Scams?

In the case of Giveaway Scams, it is easy to protect. If on Twitter free Bitcoin or Ethereum are offered, you should be suspicious. If the mesh follows the pattern described above. The free publication of crypto-currencies, there might be – but rather with Hard Forks or Airdrops. In our crypto-compass, you can get information about such „real“ Giveaways.
