The TSV Langstadt women’s table tennis team faced a setback in their quest to reach the finals of the German Table Tennis Championship. They narrowly lost the first leg of the semi-final against Weinheim, despite a promising start to the evening.

In the Bundesliga Playoffs on Friday night, TSV Langstadt lost to the favorites from Weinheim with a close score of 4-6. The team from Babenhausen, South Hesse, will have a chance to turn things around in the second leg on Sunday at 2 pm and secure a spot in the finals for the German championship.

The match started strong for Langstadt, winning both doubles matches in front of 155 spectators at the Eckehard-Colmar-Halle. This was a surprise as weak doubles had been a problem for TSV Langstadt in the past, particularly against Weinheim.

However, Weinheim dominated in the singles matches during the playoff semi-final. While Franziska Schreiner, the number three player for Langstadt, managed to win both her matches 3-1, all six other singles matches went to Weinheim.

In the upcoming second leg, TSV Langstadt will need to regroup and come back stronger to secure a spot in the finals. The team will be looking to improve their performance in the singles matches to overcome the strong competition from Weinheim and advance in the playoffs. With the support of their fans, TSV Langstadt will be aiming to turn the tide and secure a place in the finals of the German Table Tennis Championship.
