Experience the Best of Stadt Freising at the 2nd Freisinger Land Erntedank-Marktfest

Stadt Freising is gearing up for another exciting event this year, as the 2nd Freisinger Land Erntedank-Marktfest returns to the city center on Sunday, September 29th, from 10 am to 6 pm. This event, which was a huge success last year, promises to attract many guests to the Upper Old Town along the open Moosach. With over 24 market stalls offering a variety of products, entertainment, and delicious food, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

The event kicks off with an Ecumenical service followed by opening remarks from Mayor Tobias Eschenbacher, District Administrator Helmut Petz, and the organizers and association chairpersons. The Stadtkapelle Freising will provide musical accompaniment, setting the stage for a day filled with fun and festivities. Guests can indulge in a traditional Bavarian white sausage breakfast starting at 11 am, followed by a lunch featuring local specialties at noon. For those with a sweet tooth, a coffee break with live music awaits at 2 pm.

Celebrating Local Agriculture and Craftsmanship

In collaboration with members of the „Freisinger Land“ association, Aktive City e.V., and the city of Freising, the Erntedank-Marktfest showcases regional agricultural products, fine craftsmanship, and informative displays about local producers. Visitors are encouraged to explore, sample, ask questions, and learn more about the dedicated work of farmers, gardeners, bakers, butchers, beekeepers, and landscape conservators in the Freising district.

The event aims to strengthen the bond between consumers and producers, highlighting the importance of supporting local and regional initiatives. From organic produce to artisanal goods, attendees can purchase high-quality items while gaining insights into production methods, animal welfare, cultivation practices, and regional marketing strategies.

Family-Friendly Fun and Culinary Delights

The Freisinger Land Erntedank-Marktfest offers a vibrant atmosphere with activities for all ages. In the heart of the Old Town, picnic tables are set up for communal dining, and food stalls serve a variety of local delicacies, from sausages to steaks and soups. A designated area offers a selection of regional dishes from Bistro Schnick Schnack by Weihenstephan, while the beverage stand pours freshly brewed Weihenstephaner beer and non-alcoholic drinks. Guests can also indulge in coffee and pastries from local bakers, accompanied by live music from bands like JBO der Musikschule and Chacalou.

Children can enjoy a range of entertainment options, including painting, crafting, face painting, and various games. They even have the opportunity to color in pictures of the Freisinger Korbiniansbär, with surprise prizes awarded for the most creative artwork. The event space, which includes market stalls and outdoor seating areas, is located in the Upper Old Town along the open Moosach, near the Freisinger Land Laden. To ensure a peaceful shopping and leisure experience, traffic is restricted in the area on this special Sunday.

Overall, the 2nd Freisinger Land Erntedank-Marktfest promises a day of celebration, community, and appreciation for the rich agricultural heritage of Stadt Freising. Join us in honoring the hard work and dedication of our local producers while enjoying a day filled with music, food, and fun.
