Missing Plane with Malawian Vice President Onboard
A plane carrying Malawi’s Vice President, Saulos Chilima, has been reported missing since Monday morning, according to the Presidential Office. Search operations are currently ongoing.
The aircraft, belonging to the Malawian Armed Forces, took off from Lilongwe for a domestic flight at 9:17 am, with Chilima and nine other individuals onboard. However, it disappeared from radar and never arrived at Mzuzu International Airport, located approximately 370 kilometers north of the capital.
Efforts by aviation authorities to establish contact with the plane since it vanished from radar have been unsuccessful, as stated in the official announcement.
