The Bayern-Basketball team’s premiere at the new SAP Garden did not go as planned due to a seating mishap. The team had to adjust the seating arrangements last minute for their first home game against Real Madrid in the EuroLeague. This was because of construction delays and technical issues with the seating system, which the arena operator, Red Bull München Stadion GmbH, informed the team about just before the premiere.
The team had to set up chairs to compensate for the missing seats, including for VIP guests who had to make do with conference-style seating. Hardcore Bayern fans in the fan section also faced challenges as they were positioned around 10 to 15 meters away from the court due to the seating issues.
The most disappointing part was that the SAP Garden’s seating system was supposed to be a highlight of the new arena. The „Dual Rise Single Frame“ system was meant to provide flexible seating arrangements for different sports, ensuring optimal views for spectators at every event. The team is now working hard to make sure future home games at the SAP Garden can be held in the original basketball setup as planned.
Despite the seating mishap, the Bayern-Basketball team is determined to make the most of their new home at the SAP Garden and provide an exciting experience for fans in the upcoming games. They are committed to resolving the seating issues and ensuring that spectators can enjoy the games with the best possible views.
