The Angry Birds Movie 3: Jason Sudeikis and Josh Gad Return
The popular film series „Angry Birds“ is coming back for a third installment, with actors and comedians Jason Sudeikis and Josh Gad returning to the cast.
According to a press release from Rovio Entertainment Corporation, Sega, and Prime Focus Studios on Thursday, June 6, production is currently underway for the third part of the „Angry Birds“ film series. The animation partner for the film is the British company DNEG Animation.
Fans of the franchise can look forward to seeing familiar faces, as American actor and comedian Jason Sudeikis (48) and actor Josh Gad (43) are set to reprise their roles as the voices of „Angry Birds“ characters Red and Chuck.
John Rice will be directing the film, having previously worked as a co-director on the second „Angry Birds“ film and on „The Simpsons Movie.“ This time, the screenplay is being written by Thurop van Orman (48), who directed the second installment.
While specific details about the plot of „The Angry Birds Movie 3“ have not been revealed yet, the film is expected to build on the success of its predecessors, which collectively grossed over half a billion US dollars worldwide.
Sega Group President and COO Shuji Utsumi (63) stated that the third film will provide „a great opportunity to bring the charm of the Angry Birds brand closer to fans around the world.“
