In December 2022, it was announced at a press conference for the first time that the St.Gallen Festival will now take place alternately in St.Gallen and at Flumserberg.

After two years of preparation, the premiere of the semi-opera „The Fairy Queen“ by Henry Purcell will be performed at Flumserberg on Friday, June 21, 2024. The following performance dates are scheduled as follows:

– Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 8:00 pm.
– Friday, June 28, 2024, at 8:00 pm.
– Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 8:00 pm.
– Friday, July 5, 2024, at 8:00 pm.
– Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 8:00 pm.

The grandstand is covered.

Cultural Experience in Nature
Director Anna Bernreiter is an expert in producing operas in unusual locations, and the enchanting music of Henry Purcell will be combined with scenes from Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and dance elements to create an artistic experience.

Conductor Corinna Niemeyer will lead 70 people each evening to ensure that the orchestra and vocals are perfect. The fascinating multi-level stage showcases a fairy forest. The pink fairy forest contrasts with the romantic forest in the background on Tannenboden.

Gondola Ride as a Prelude
The journey itself is an experience, as the ticket price includes a gondola ride from Unterterzen to Tannenboden. Passengers can enjoy the unique view of the Churfirsten mountain range and Lake Walen through the panoramic windows of the SeeJet gondola for about 25 minutes. This sets the perfect mood for the cultural highlight.

On the performance dates, the SeeJet gondola operates continuously from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm and from 10:30 pm to 11:15 pm, taking into account train connections in Unterterzen.
