Laura Chaplin, the granddaughter of the famous British comedian and actor Charlie Chaplin, is currently showcasing her art in a gallery in Bremerhaven. Her artworks are inspired by her iconic grandfather’s work, focusing on themes of joy and carefree living. The gallery, Hermy M., located in Bremerhaven-Wulsdorf, is displaying around 30 pieces of art by the 37-year-old Swiss artist, including large lithographs and paintings. Laura Chaplin herself is present for the setup and opening of the exhibition.

Describing her art as something positive, Laura Chaplin aims to convey happiness and hope through her work. Her pieces often feature motifs of nature, animals, as well as references to Charlie Chaplin and his philosophy of humanism and humor. Growing up surrounded by the legacy of her grandfather, Laura Chaplin draws inspiration from his stories and teachings, even though she never had the chance to meet him in person.

The collaboration between Laura Chaplin and the gallery in Bremerhaven was initiated in 2017 when the gallery owners visited one of her exhibitions in Zurich and subsequently invited her to showcase her art. The exhibition in Bremerhaven runs until November 22nd, with the gallery open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 11 am to 6 pm, as well as by appointment.

Visitors have the opportunity to purchase Laura Chaplin’s artworks at prices ranging from 500 to 5,000 euros.
