Together with Christopher, I explore Monero, the ideology of privacy and the possible hurdles and problems of a private crypto-currency.

privacy is a focus of the Monero project. You want to allow the users to remain in your financial matters private. So in the case of a Monero transaction, the Sender, the receiver and the amount due to crypto are obscured graphical mechanisms. As a result, the individual Monero are fungible. In other words, they are not distinguishable from each other. On the one hand, this means a solid censorship-resistance, because Outputs cannot be on a Black list posted. On the other hand, fungibility is an essential property of a money.

Here is the main difference to Bitcoin is revealed. In Bitcoin, all transactions are recorded transparently and clearly for all eternity in the Blockchain. This could be, maybe, someday? at the beginning of 2017, I was for the first time on XMR’s attention. At the time, a developer in the Bitcoin Stammtisch Karlsruhe, advised me to take a closer look at the technology. Since then, I go deeper and deeper into the rabbit Hole and explore the wondrous world of cryptography. Basically Monero realized for me, the original Vision of bitcoin: digital, private, decentralized money.
