A tragic accident occurred in Frankenthal on Sunday afternoon (October 20, 2024) around 4:30 pm. A 70-year-old man was driving his Toyota on Großharthauer Straße when he veered off the road, possibly due to health issues, according to the Görlitz Police Department. The vehicle crashed into a house wall, resulting in severe injuries to an 80-year-old female passenger and a 58-year-old female occupant. The driver passed away at the scene. The police are now seeking witnesses who may have seen the accident or have information about the man’s driving behavior before the crash.
