ONLYOFFICE Docs 8.2 has been released with new features and improvements to enhance user experience. The latest version of the online editors includes over 30 new functions and more than 500 bug fixes.

One of the key updates is the addition of PDF collaboration, allowing users to edit PDF files together. The strict collaborative editing mode is enabled by default, ensuring that changes are saved when the „Save“ button is clicked. Real-time collaboration can be activated by selecting the quick mode.

Another significant improvement is the introduction of signatures for PDF forms. Users can now sign PDF forms by inserting an image. Future updates will enhance this feature by adding digital signatures, currently available in the ONLYOFFICE Desktop App.

The user interface has been revamped in ONLYOFFICE Docs 8.2, giving users the option to display tabs in fill or line style. Additionally, users can apply the toolbar color as the background color for tabs. A new gray theme has also been added for those who prefer a more understated design.

Performance optimization has been a focus in this release, with loading scripts optimized to speed up the opening of editors by up to 21% compared to the previous version. Additionally, ONLYOFFICE Docs can now be updated without downtime, thanks to Kubernetes Shards deployment.

The document editor now includes field codes for automatic data updates, such as page numbers, author names, dates, and times. Other enhancements in the document editor include the ability to highlight deleted text in the document version history, insert text from third-party sources, and preset Arabic numbering.

In the spreadsheet editor, users can now enable iterative calculations to specify how many times the editor should run a formula chain to calculate a result. The scrolling behavior in tables has also been improved for a more comfortable experience, especially in large files containing cells with multiple rows.

During presentations, users can now use a digital pen to draw on slides in a color to highlight key points or clarify connections. A random transition feature has been implemented to add spontaneity to slides, applying different transition effects in random order each time the slideshow is started.

ONLYOFFICE continues to enhance localization support, with improved right-to-left (RTL) support in the spreadsheet editor for correct cell alignment on the sheet. Version 8.2 also introduces Hebrew localization, updated dictionaries, and improved spell-checking for all languages.

Other useful improvements in ONLYOFFICE Docs 8.2 include enhanced Pivot Tables and advanced Smart Arts, the ability to add custom fields in the „File information“ section, and new chart types like Histogram, Waterfall, and Funnel for display.

In addition to the online version updates, the ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors have also been upgraded to version 8.2. The desktop app now includes touchscreen support, CSV preview for local files, and several other features to enhance the user experience.

With these new features and improvements, ONLYOFFICE Docs 8.2 aims to provide users with a more efficient and user-friendly online office suite experience.
