Teodor Currentzis bids farewell with Benjamin Britten’s „War Requiem“
Classical music enthusiasts gathered at the SWR Symphony Orchestra’s concert hall to witness Teodor Currentzis‘ final performance as the orchestra’s first chief conductor. The evening was filled with anticipation as many wondered if this performance would be the statement that Currentzis‘ fans had been waiting for.
As the performance came to an end, Currentzis swiftly exited the stage, leaving behind a room full of musicians bidding him farewell. This time, he did not address the audience in Freiburg as he had done so many times before, expressing his gratitude for their unwavering support over the years.
