DJ Ötzi: „It makes me nervous and crazy at times“

DJ Ötzi, also known as Gerry Friedle, opens up in an interview with „DER WESTEN“ about his faith and reveals what has always made him successful.

He is one of the biggest stars in the German-speaking region. For years, DJ Ötzi has been performing on the biggest stages in the country. Thousands attend his concerts, and millions watch his TV shows. However, the pressure that comes with being an artist also affects DJ Ötzi. In an interview with this publication, the singer, whose real name is Gerry Friedle, shares how he copes with it and what helps him.

DJ Ötzi on faith and gratitude
„I am a doubter. I question everything, all the time. I have become calmer, but that keeps me upright. It does make me nervous and crazy at times, stomach aches and all, but that has always made me successful. Because I have not been arrogant with myself, but always clear and grateful. With gratitude, you have attitude, you have humility, and then the people around you also help. Because they realize, he is not just looking out for himself, he is there for us too. And so the circle closes,“ says Friedle.

He also reveals that he is religious, saying, „I talk to Him. I do not ask, but I am very grateful and through that, I get to know myself more. I am more in tune with myself. Then you are much more in your power. I believe that if you do good things, look out for other people, be there for them, then you are allowed to, and that’s how I feel, have success. Success comes and goes, happiness comes and goes. A complicated story, but I live it that way.“

The singer goes on to explain that he used to go to church to practice his faith, „now I go more into the forest. Some people understand it, some do not, but that’s where I get my strength.“

In the interview with this publication, DJ Ötzi also talks about his good friend Florian Silbereisen. He reveals why, despite their close bond, he does not want to be on the „Traumschiff.“ If you want to see the charming Austrian live, you do not have to wait long. On November 8, 2024, the friendly Austrian will play the first concert of his „Mountain Mania“ tour in Cologne. Florian Silbereisen will also be there. Tickets are available at all well-known box offices.
